Provincial Champions!

The Abbotsford Angels are AAA Mosquito Provincial Champions! The boys were solid in a 10-2 victory over Victoria. Carlin Dick led the way with 4 dominant innings of pitching and was deserving of his 2nd game MVP selection. Yet all season long it was the depth of the team that set this group apart and that was certainly the difference in this tournament, as the team got contributions from all 12 players. The win gives this group Back to Back Championships, as they followed up on a Single A Championship in 2011.

Abbotsford v. Victoria in Final

Victoria defeated Cloverdale in the other Semifinal so the Gold Medal game will see the Angels take on the Eagles, 4:00 at Cloverdale Ball Park. Abbotsford Tier 2 also earned a spot in the final with a solid victory in the Semis, so they too will play for Gold, 2:00 at Cloverdale Ball Park. In fact, it is a big afternoon for the AAHA as Mosquito A and PeeWee AA have also earned spots into the Provincial Finals! Bantam AA and AAA Semis still to go as well. Go Abby Baseball!

Come from behind win in Semis!

As expected, it was the closest game with Richmond all season. The Chuckers led 5-4 going into the bottom of the 5th. Kole Jessamine had already done some great pitching and came up with a clutch double to score two runs and give Abby the lead. Conall Sexton came in and delivered 3 strikeouts to close it out and earn the save! Pinky earned MVP of the game honours for his clutch hit and his strong performance on the mound.

First place in pool play.

The Angels wrapped up 1st spot in their pool with solid wins over Duncan and Rutland-- 14-6 and 15-2 respectively. Dayton Peters earned MVP honors in the first game while Carlin Dick followed in the second, both with great contributions at the plate. Some solid pitching came from all over the team, including Riley Hall and Kole Jessamine against Duncan, and Brady Rempel against Rutland. Next up for the boys will be Richmond in the Semi-Finals. The team also wants to pass on congratulations to the Tier 2 squad for also earning their way to the Semis. In fact, all the Angels teams at all levels playing this weekend earned Semi-Final berths-- Go Abby Baseball!
