Knocked Out in Semi-Final Thriller
The AAA Mosquito squad played a very good American team from Sedro Woolley in a thrilling Semi-Final matchup at the End of Summer Classic at Bender Fields in Lynden, WA. The game went to extra innings, with Abby taking a 5-4 lead in the top of the 7th. Sadly the lead was short lived as the Americans won it in the bottom half, walking off with a 6-5 victory.
Carlin Dick had a strong start on the mound, giving up 2 runs over 3 innings. Conall Sexton was equally strong through the next 3, also giving up only 2 runs. It was a great game, and despite the disappointment of losing, the team remains very positive heading into the Provincial Championships next week.
To get to the Semi-Final, in Pool play the boys had crushed the team from Burnaby, tied their rivals from Cloverdale and lost to a power hitting team from East Lake, WA.
Scores:
Angels 3
Cloverdale 3
Angels 2
East Lake 11
Angels 18
Burnaby 4
Angels 5
Sedro Woolley 6
